Challenges in recruiting skilled workers have led many UK businesses to look to overseas talent to fill gaps and bolster their staffing levels. However, the significant increase in the minimum salary for those applying for skilled worker visas—part of the government’s aim to reduce immigration—is making it more difficult for organisations to attract diverse talent.
Partner Louise Haycock shares with Management Today that this increase effectively closes overseas recruitment for some businesses and sectors. And, while adjustments to the Immigration Salary List offer potential relief, businesses are urged to engage with industry bodies and plan ahead amidst the evolving immigration landscape.
